Day 10 Sun 25th March

Ceduna - Rest Day

Two exceptional German people are Katrin Boehner and husband Dieter Eckel entrants  21 and 22, motorbikes 1907 JAP 250 cc ohv and 1914 BSA model H 557cc. They told me their first motorbike long distance journey was riding their treasured bikes across Germany in 2009.  2010, the Cannonball in USA . Then Katrin became passionate to do long distance riding, so now they are here taking the challenge with their 15 year old daughter Isabella, who is watching her adventurous parents from the backup and seeing life from another perspective.

In Eucla we had adjoining cabins and throughout the night my lullaby was Dieter tinkering with the bikes and the sweet whispers of Katrin to him. Until yesterday their wheels had never left the highway. Then Dieters engine stopped dead. So today, our rest day in Ceduna Dieter is back to his tinkering. He has rebuilt his engine this past 8 days, so imagine his disappointment to rebuild the motor yet again!

Ceduna is so sunny as I type. Today the car parks of Ceduna Foreshore Hotel Motel hae been by magic transformed into a mobile work shops. Just as well we hit the track early tomorrow.
