Day 14 Thur 29th March

Broken Hill - rest day

Our “rest day” in Broken Hill and really a day of repair and replace. Mark McKibben who drives a Sizaire 1909 pulled apart the engine and took to a local engineering shop in Broken Hill to improve the alignment of crank shaft  and reassembled the motor and all ready to roll tomorrow.

Wonderful to go to the bush of Broken Hill and wander over the old disused road. Chat with the locals and especially those who wanted to share the magic of Broken Hills history. We did a photo shoot of one of the cars on the red soil of the Hill.

A brief visit to a Men's Shed and wonder at the many spare parts and a few of our entrants were there enjoying the opportunity.

A walk on the Load and shared a few moments of reflection as over 800 lives were lost in the Broken Hill mines.
